This policy applies to any KLI-owned online service, including but not limited to the following:
The listed services are separately referred to with the general term “the Service” or jointly as “the Servicess”). Use of this Service implies consent with the terms and conditions of this policy. This policy applies to information from private individuals as well as information from companies. This policy notwithstanding, KLI reserves the right to disclose any information collected through the Services as may be requested by law.
1. The information collected
Information is collected from KLI’s customers and users of the Service in various ways. Each collection is separately discussed below.
Automatically collected information
We receive and collect the name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet; the Internet protocol (IP) address of the computer used; the browser software used and the operating system; the date and time of access to the Service; and the internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our Service. We use this information to monitor the usage of a Service, exclusively for internal and support purposes.
Information collected via cookies
The Services of KLI use “cookies”. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, tablet, or phone when you access a Service that allows the Service to remember information about you and your preferences.
Some cookies are deleted when you close down your browser. These are known as session cookies (“Session Cookies”). Others remain on your device until they expire or you delete them from your cache. These are known as persistent cookies (“Persistent Cookies”) and enable us to remember things about you as a returning visitor.
The cookies we use allow us to recognize and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the Service when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way a Service works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily. Our cookies also enable us to tailor the content you view according to preferences you set.
We use Session Cookies for the following purposes:
- To allow you to carry information across pages of our Service and avoid having to re-enter information.
- Within registration to allow you to access stored information;
- To compile anonymous, aggregated statistics that allow us to understand how users use our Service and to help us improve the structure of our Service.
We use Persistent Cookies for the following purposes:
- To help us recognize you as a unique visitor (just a number) when you return to our Service and to allow us to tailor content to match your preferred interests;
- To compile anonymous, aggregated statistics that allow us to understand how users use our Service and to help us improve the structure of our Service
- To internally identify you by account name, email address, customer ID, and location (geographic and computer ID/IP address);
- To tailor content to your preferences.
Third parties serve cookies via the Service. These third party cookies are used for the following purposes:
- To serve content on a Service and track whether this content is clicked on by users;
- To control how often you are shown particular content;
- To count the number of anonymous users of a Service;
- For Service usage analysis.
By using the Service and accepting the cookie banner, you consent to the processing of your personal data through cookies by KLI in the manner and for the purposes set out above. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it. You can also set your browser to block the placing of cookies at all, but you should realize that this can limit the use of the Services. You can find more information about cookies at www.cookiecentral.com/faq
Information from your subscription
When you subscribe to any or all of the products that can be accessed at our Service, or when you send a form requesting a product trial, you must provide information identifying you as customer.
The Services use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the Service analyze how you use the Service. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the Service (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Also, the Service uses Google AdWords for “retargeting” purposes; for more information please read here
2. Use of personal information
Personal information is used for internal administrative purposes, such as order processing, invoicing and bookkeeping, for performing our obligations towards you, for compliance with legislation and for generating statistics used by marketing.
Please note we engage a number of sub-processors in order to fulfil our obligations towards you. We have Data Processing Agreements in place with every sub-processor we work with. Please contact us at Lrs-DataPrivacy@wolterskluwer.com
if you want additional information regarding how we deal with your personal data or if you wish to have a DPA in place.
We send personal customer information to third-party subcontractors and agents that work on our behalf to provide certain services. These third parties do not have the right to use the personal customer information beyond what is necessary to assist us. They are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of the personal customer information and are restricted from using such information in any way not expressly authorized by KLI.
3. Communications from the Service
You may receive the following communications through our Service:
4. Commercial communication: your rights

When completing an electronic order form of a specific product or service, or any other instance where you are asked to provide your personal data on a Service, you will always be able to tick the appropriate box to indicate that you wish to update your preferences or unsubscribe from any commercial communication.
5. Correcting, removing and accessing your personal information
For corrections to your personal information, for having your personal information removed from our systems, or for insight in your personal information, please email our Marketing Department
. Upon a request for insight in the personal information we keep from you, we could ask you for a proof of identity. Please note that it is not possible to have personal information removed as long as you are subscribing to any of the products or services accessible through the Service due to the administrative necessity of keeping customer contact information. In order to have personal customer information removed, you must first consent to terminate the subscription.
